Shanfeng Elementary was founded in 1977 after enrollment at nearby Nanshi Elementary spiked when the Army Signal School and Army Ordnance School relocated to the area and the Shanzaiding Pingzhen Industrial Park was completed, rapidly urbanizing the district. The school's founding is a direct product of this postwar industrial and military development. Since then, its tchoukball (巧固球) teams have become a signature athletic strength, winning more than 160 medals over the decades.
山豐國小創立於1977年，當時因陸軍通信學校、陸軍軍械學校相繼遷入本區，加上山仔頂平鎮工業區完工，鄰近的南勢國小學生人數暴增，促成本校的設立。學校的創立可說是戰後平鎮工業與軍事發展的直接產物。多年來，本校巧固球隊屢創佳績，累積獎牌數已逾160面，成為學校的招牌運動項目。
