A name that remembers Bali-sha.

Sanxing Elementary opened in 1909 during the Japanese colonial era as the "Luodong Public School Bali-sha Branch," becoming independent in 1913 as "Bali-sha Public School." It was renamed "Sanxing Public School" in 1921 and took its current name by 1968. The school now brands itself "百年三星" — "Century-old Sanxing" — and its historic Bali-sha (叭哩沙) name preserves the indigenous Kavalan-era place name for the area, predating the Chinese-language "Sanxing" designation.
