New buildings for an old anniversary.
Sanhou Elementary began as Zhongxing Branch Class of Wenxian Elementary School, becoming independent in 1965 as Kaohsiung County Hunei Township Sanhou Elementary School. The school completed new campus buildings in October 2019, the same year it celebrated its 55th anniversary — a milestone shared with the mid-1960s wave of rural school districts across Hunei splitting into independent schools.

🌾 Born From a Larger School District
文賢國校分校而生
Sanhou began life as a branch class of Wenxian Elementary, part of a broader mid-1960s pattern of Hunei's large rural school districts splitting into smaller, independent schools.
🏫 Decades of Continuity
屹立近一甲子
From its 1965 founding to its 2019 rebuilding, Sanhou Elementary has remained a steady educational anchor for its rural Hunei neighborhood for close to sixty years.
Hunei's wave of new neighborhood schools.
Sanhou's founding as an offshoot of Wenxian Elementary reflects a broader mid-1960s pattern across Hunei District, as farming communities on this former lagoon-turned-farmland grew large enough to support their own independent neighborhood schools. See the Kaohsiung county page for more on the region.
