Founded on donated orchard land.
Ruiyuan Junior High traces its roots to 1968, when it began as the Ruiyuan branch of Luye Junior High. After local advocates petitioned Taiwan's Provincial Governor Huang Chieh for approval, the school became fully independent the following year, in 1969. A local benefactor, Chien Hsi-tung, donated 1.8 hectares of his own plum orchard as the school site — a gift that gave the community's children a school of their own. The school today runs a "zero-rejection" enrollment hotline, reflecting a long-standing commitment to inclusive admissions.
