A tree that has outlived a century of students.

Ruimei Elementary dates back to 1905 under Japanese rule, cited as 115 years old in a 2020 source — making it one of the oldest schools in Ruisui Township. Its most distinctive feature is a nationally-recognized "most beautiful campus tree," a century-old black pine reportedly planted by the school's very first generation of students and teachers, which still stands on campus today as a living link to the school's founding. The school's international profile grew further when French artist "Monsieur Julien" visited as part of a global mural and painting project, and in 2021 it added a creative playground for younger students.
