Named after two rejected alternatives.
Renhe Junior High opened for the 1971 school year under founding principal Zhu Guozhang, with five classes and 239 students. The name went through two rejected proposals first — “Yuanshulin Junior High” and then “Ren'ai Junior High” (the latter turned down for duplicating other schools' names nationwide) — before “Renhe Junior High” was finally settled on. While its own campus was under construction, the school initially borrowed five classrooms from Daxi Junior High.

Named after two rejected alternatives.
Located on the west bank of the Dahan River (大漢溪), Renhe Junior High sits along the same waterway whose old river port once fed Daxi Old Street's historic tofu, soy-sauce, and wood-furniture trades — industries that grew up around the river's shipping routes generations ago.
