Delugu Elementary was originally founded as Hezuo Elementary School, with campus buildings dating from 1974. It was renamed Delugu Elementary in August 2021. Sitting at 1,400–1,600 meters elevation on the western flank of Qilai Mountain, it is one of the most remote settlements along Taiwan's central mountain range — and is recognized as Taiwan's first "starlight school," designed around stargazing and astronomy education.
德鹿谷國小前身為合作國小，校舍最早可溯及1974年（民國63年）。2021年（民國110年）8月更名為德鹿谷國小。學校座落於奇萊山西麓，海拔1,400至1,600公尺，是台灣中央山脈沿線最偏遠的聚落之一，並被譽為全台第一所「星光學校」，以觀星與天文教育為特色。
