A Rukai enclave within Paiwan territory.
Qingye Elementary, founded in 1977, serves the only Rukai-tribe village within Sandimen Township — a township otherwise made up mostly of Paiwan communities. The village's residents relocated collectively from the old Dawu settlement in neighboring Wutai Township more than 70 years ago, and most families today work in agriculture. Including kindergarten, the school has 7 classes, and its student body is 100 percent Rukai. Its Rukai Ballad Choir (魯凱歌謠隊) has won the national folk-song competition for six consecutive years and has performed abroad in Italy and Canada.

🏘️ The Only Rukai Village in Paiwan Sandimen
三地門鄉唯一魯凱部落
Qingye's village is the sole Rukai-tribe community within a township otherwise made up of Paiwan settlements, making the school a distinctive cultural enclave within Sandimen.
🚶 A Community Born of Migration
源自大武部落的集體遷村
The village's residents relocated collectively from the old Dawu settlement in Wutai Township more than 70 years ago, and that migration history remains part of the community's living memory.
👶 100% Rukai Student Body
全校學生皆為魯凱族
Every student at Qingye Elementary is Rukai, giving the school's cultural and language programs a rare depth and consistency across the whole student body.
Rukai songs, weaving, and migration memory.
Qingye is a Rukai indigenous enclave set within a township that is otherwise predominantly Paiwan — a reminder that Sandimen's mountain communities are more culturally layered than a single label suggests. The school's curriculum is built around preserving Rukai oral songs, weaving, and the migration history that brought the community here from its ancestral village in the Wutai mountains, keeping that heritage alive through the internationally recognized Rukai Ballad Choir.
