A riverside, hillside campus with broad strengths.
Qingxi Junior High was founded on August 1, 1968. The school sits beside Nankan Creek (南崁溪) with Tiger Head Mountain (虎頭山) as its neighbor, and it is recognized for strong programs in music, physical education, industrial arts, science education, and Chinese-language education. It was renamed to Taoyuan Municipal in the December 2014 reorganization, and its preparatory-office role for several later schools — including Jianguo, Dayou, and others — reflects its long-standing place as one of the district's established junior highs.
