A late-century school with an early lead in gifted education.
Qing-Xi Elementary broke ground around 1989 and completed construction in 1990, formally admitting its first full class in 1992. Its 1990 founding reflects Taoyuan District's late-20th-century population boom. In 2016 it launched Taoyuan City's first "creative-ability gifted class" (創造能力資優班) in partnership with National Taiwan Normal University and National Taipei University of Education, open to citywide 3rd- and 4th-graders. The school is also designated a Bilingual Spotlight School, houses a "TEAM Model" smart classroom, and operates a seismic monitoring station connected to the Central Weather Bureau's earthquake network.
青溪國小約於1989年動工，1990年完成校舍興建，1992年正式招收第一屆完整班級。1990年的創校時間點反映了桃園區在20世紀末期的人口成長熱潮。2016年，學校與國立臺灣師範大學及國立臺北教育大學合作，開設桃園市首個「創造能力資優班」，招收全市三、四年級學生。學校亦獲認證為雙語亮點學校，設有「因材網」智慧教室，並與中央氣象局地震觀測網合作設置地震觀測站。
