A relatively young addition to Fongshan's schools.
Planning for Qingnian Junior High began in 1996, and the school welcomed its first intake of 564 students across 14 classes in 1997. It became a Kaohsiung municipal school on December 25, 2010, following the city-county merger. Among Fongshan's junior highs, Qingnian is one of the relatively young ones, taking its name from Qingnian Road ("Youth Road"), a modern street name typical of postwar urban planning.
