A school born to serve a famous pilgrimage village.
Qiming Elementary began in 1940 as the Baishatun separate classroom, established near what is today the Baishatun police station. It became an independent school in 1945, relocated to its current site in 1950, and was renamed Qiming that December. Along with Xinpu Elementary, it later lent its name to Qixin Junior High, one of its feeder schools.
