The largest island school in the county.

Qimei Junior High began in 1968 as Wan'an Junior High's "Qimei Branch," transferred to Magong Junior High's administration in 1970, and was finally made fully independent in 1972 to satisfy Taiwan's "one junior high per township" policy. The school grew quickly, from 2 classes and 63 students in 1970 to 9 classes and 355 students by 2003, and has been described as the largest island school in the county. Today it serves as the sole junior high for the entire Qimei Township.
