Qigu's oldest school, now its administrative anchor.
Qigu Elementary was founded in January 1921, the first elementary school established in Qigu District. It celebrated its 100th anniversary around 2021, inaugurating a new digital-learning building as part of the centennial. The school runs a kindergarten and today serves as the administrative anchor for Qigu's smaller rural campuses. Since 2025, it has also absorbed the once-independent Longshan Elementary School as a satellite campus, after Longshan's enrollment fell to about 22 students amid the depopulation of the district's fishing hamlets.

🏫 Administrative Anchor of Qigu
七股偏鄉小校的行政母校
As the largest school in the district, Qigu Elementary serves as the administrative hub for a network of smaller rural campuses scattered across the district's salt and fishing villages.
🤝 A New Satellite Campus
新增龍山分校
Since 2025 the school has administered the former Longshan Elementary as "七股國民小學龍山分校," after Longshan's enrollment declined to about 22 students — a direct sign of Qigu's shrinking fishing hamlets.
At the center of Qigu's salt and lagoon country.
As the oldest and largest school in Qigu, this campus sits at the center of a district shaped by salt production and aquaculture, with lagoons and tidal flats that host the famous black-faced spoonbill wetlands. Its recent absorption of the shrinking Longshan satellite campus mirrors the broader demographic decline of Qigu's remote fishing and salt-farming hamlets.
