Ciaotou Junior High traces its origins to around 1956, when it operated as a branch of the Provincial Kaohsiung Girls' Senior High School. It became an independent school, Kaohsiung County Ciaotou Junior High, in 1964, and took its present name in 1968. As the sole junior high serving all of Ciaotou District, it is notable for having its own on-campus swimming pool.
橋頭國中源起於約1956年,當時為省立高雄女子高級中學的分校。1964年獨立設校,定名為「高雄縣立橋頭國民中學」,1968年更名為現名。作為橋頭區唯一的國中,校內設有游泳池,是一大特色。
