Cianjhen Senior High School opened in 1969 as the Taiwan Provincial Cianjhen Senior High School, becoming the fourth public academic high school in the Kaohsiung region. It was reorganized as a municipal school in 1979 and, in 1984, established the region's first experimental fine-arts class. Today it enrolls roughly 1,700 students.
前鎮高中創立於民國58年（1969年），初名「臺灣省立前鎮高級中學」，是高雄地區第四所公立高中。民國68年（1979年）改制為市立高中，民國73年（1984年）成立高雄地區第一個美術實驗班。現有學生約1,700人。
