Minquan Elementary School broke ground in April 1998 and officially opened in August 1999, making it one of the newest elementary schools in Cianjhen District. Its first graduating class in 2001 numbered 78 students. In 2003, the school's campus design won a Taipei Architecture Award, recognition for a building built to serve the growing residential area along Minquan 2nd Road.
民權國小於民國87年（1998年）4月動工，民國88年（1999年）8月正式啟用，是前鎮區最新設立的國小之一。2001年首屆畢業生共78人。2003年，該校校園建築設計榮獲台北建築獎的肯定，見證了這座為服務民權二路周邊新興住宅區而生的校園。
