Puzi Junior High was founded on May 14, 1963, originally named Chiayi County Puzi Junior High School. It is well known locally as the only public girls' junior high school in the Puzi area, a distinction that reflects the town's historic size and importance. The school's wind/marching band has won national top honors ('全國特優') for four consecutive years, and it also maintains a strong choir, recorder ensemble, and Chinese orchestra. Specialized tracks are available in art, Chinese orchestra, and PE/athletics, and the school's new south wing, '蕙蘭樓,' was completed in 2019. Puzi Junior High has also earned 'Lighthouse School' (燈塔學校) certification for its arts specialization.
朴子國中創立於民國52年（1963年）5月14日，原名嘉義縣立朴子初級中學。校方以「朴子地區唯一公立女子學校」聞名於地方，反映了朴子鎮作為歷史市街的規模與重要性。學校管樂團已連續四年榮獲全國特優殊榮，另有實力堅強的合唱團、直笛團與國樂團。學校並開設美術班、國樂班、體育班等特色班別，新建南棟「蕙蘭樓」於民國108年（2019年）完工，並因藝術特色教育獲頒燈塔學校認證。
