Wan'an Elementary School sits at the northern edge of Taiwu Township, at the foot of Dawu Mountain, alongside the Wan'an River (萬安溪). Its school district spans five tribal settlements across an unusually wide catchment area that crosses township lines: Wan'an, Anping, and Dali, all in Wan'an Village, Taiwu Township; Mashi, in Jiaping Village; and Chengzhilu, in Chengde Village, neighboring Wanluan Township. Virtually all students at the school are Paiwan indigenous children.
