Jianguo Elementary School

Jianguo Elementary holds a distinctive place among Pingtung City's schools: it is Pingtung County's only county-run public experimental elementary school located within the city proper. As of a 2022–23 school update, the school was in its seventh year running an integrated experimental curriculum built around a "three-iron" (三鐵) combined-subject program, culminating in a sixth-grade capstone called the "百里鐵馬行" — a hundred-li (roughly 50-km) cycling expedition that doubles as a graduation rite of passage. Jianguo is also part of a strategic alliance among eight of Pingtung County's experimental schools, working with National Pingtung University's South Taiwan Experimental Education Collaboration Center.

建國國小在屏東市眾校中位置特殊：它是屏東縣唯一設於市區內、由縣府公辦公營的實驗國小。根據111學年度的資訊，該校已邁入實驗課程第七年，核心為跨科整合的「三鐵」課程，並以六年級「百里鐵馬行」單車壯遊作為畢業典禮的壓軸活動。建國國小同時也是屏東縣8所實驗學校策略聯盟的成員之一，與國立屏東大學南台灣實驗教育合作中心攜手合作。
