Donghai Elementary School was founded in 1923, during the Japanese colonial era, and has served the Donghai village community in Fangliao Township ever since. The school marked its centennial with a celebration themed “Rising sun in the east, a century of grace from the sea” (東昇旭日 海澤百年), an occasion covered by county government news. It also operates an attached kindergarten with its own dedicated presence online.
