Pingzhen Junior High School

Pingzhen Junior High was founded in 1962 as "Taoyuan County Yangmei Junior High School Pingzhen Branch," first enrolling students at what is now the site of Zhongli Junior High. Its founding tracks Pingzhen's early-1960s population growth as Taoyuan urbanized, making it one of the oldest secondary-school lineages in the district. In 2001, it merged with the newly built senior-high division as the "Pingzhen Senior High School attached Junior High Division" under a short-lived complete-secondary-school pilot program, before splitting off again in 2002 as an independent junior high once the two campuses proved too far apart to share administration. The school became a municipal institution in 2014.

平鎮國中創立於1962年，初名「桃園縣立楊梅國民中學平鎮分部」，最初借用今中壢國中校址招生。其創校反映了1960年代初期桃園都市化過程中平鎮人口的快速成長，是平鎮區歷史最悠久的中等學校之一。2001年，本校與新建的高中部合併，成為完全中學試辦計畫下的「平鎮高級中學國中部」；2002年因兩校區地點不同，再度獨立設校。2014年改制為市立學校。
