Taoyuan Municipal Pingzhen Senior High School

Pingzhen Senior High traces its roots to 1998, when the Taoyuan County government assigned the principal of Pingzhen Junior High to plan a new complete-secondary school on land originally set aside for a proposed Beishi Junior High. The senior-high division's campus was completed in June 2000, with the first class enrolling that September as "Taoyuan County Pingzhen Middle School," combining junior and senior high on one campus. When the complete-secondary pilot program ended in 2001, the school was renamed Pingzhen Senior High School, and in 2002 its junior-high division split off to become an independent Pingzhen Junior High on a separate campus. The school became a municipal institution in 2014 amid Taoyuan's upgrade to special-municipality status, and took its current "Senior High and Vocational" designation in 2018.

平鎮高中的歷史可追溯至1998年，桃園縣政府指派平鎮國中校長規劃一所完全中學，校地原本是預定興建北勢國中的用地。高中部校舍於2000年6月完工，同年9月首批學生入學，當時校名為「桃園縣立平鎮中學」，國、高中部合併於同一校園。2001年完全中學試辦計畫結束後，學校更名為「平鎮高級中學」；2002年國中部因兩校區位置不同而獨立設校，成為現今的平鎮國中。2014年桃園縣升格直轄市，本校改制為市立學校，並於2018年隨桃園市高中職移撥市府主管，正式定名為現制。
