Pingxing Junior High School

Pingxing Junior High was founded in 1994, after a planning office was established in 1992 under founding principal Yu Xing-quan. Located on Huannan Road near Pingzhen's industrial parks, the school's growth paralleled the district's manufacturing-driven population expansion through the 1990s. In 2003 its teaching team won the Ministry of Education's first-ever National Teaching Excellence Award (教學卓越獎) for its innovative implementation of the nine-year integrated curriculum, and the school runs a math and science gifted-education program (數理資優班) that regularly competes in national science fairs. It was renamed a municipal school in 2014.

平興國中創立於1994年，1992年即成立籌備處，由首任校長余興泉先生主持規劃。校址位於環南路、鄰近平鎮工業區，其發展與1990年代平鎮製造業帶動的人口成長同步。2003年，本校教學團隊榮獲教育部首屆「教學卓越獎」，表彰其在九年一貫課程創新實施上的成果；學校並設有數理資優班，經常在全國科展中取得佳績。2014年改制為市立學校。
