History painted onto a colonial-era platform.
Pinglin Elementary was likely founded around 1944–1945, near the end of Japanese colonial rule, and recently celebrated roughly 80 years of history. Its campus preserves a restored Japanese-era military command platform, now decorated with student murals that turn a piece of colonial-era infrastructure into a living art space. The school also runs an organic vegetable garden as part of hands-on learning, alongside a strong Hakka-language program complemented by English, reading, and arts enrichment.
