A wide school district beside a mountain river.

Pinghe Junior High School was established in August 1968 along the scenic Laxi River, with mountain and water views framing its campus. Unusually for a junior high, its school district spans ten villages across Shoufeng Township's inland farmland, drawing students from a wide catchment area. Indigenous students, primarily Amis with some Truku from certain villages, make up roughly two-thirds of enrollment, making the school a central institution for Shoufeng's Indigenous communities.
