Pinghe Elementary is a small rural school of about six classes and just under fifty students, sitting at the base of Liyu Mountain overlooking Liyu Lake. Despite its size, the school serves a genuinely multi-ethnic community of Hoklo, Hakka, Indigenous, and new immigrant families, and offers a surprisingly full slate of extracurricular activities — including taekwondo, a puppet-theater club, a baseball team, and an inline skating team.
