An award-winning green campus in the flower country.
National Pingbei Senior High School was founded in 2004 as a comprehensive high school (綜合高中) offering tracks in social studies, natural sciences, business, and food and beverage service; starting the 114 academic year (2025), it is also launching a "smart green agri-tech" experimental class. The campus is celebrated for its eco-friendly, green-building design, having won a green building design award, been selected as an outstanding public art demonstration school, and received the Taiwan Architecture Award. Since 2010, National Tsing Hua University has partnered with the school to run an Indigenous Education Experimental Program. Despite sitting in an area with no convenience store within 3 kilometers, over 90% of its "Fanxing" program applicants have been admitted to university.

Southern Taiwan's flower capital.
Pingbei High sits in Yanpu Township, an agricultural plain also home to Tajen University, where farms grow mango, wax apple, jujube, starfruit, and flowers — including roses, oncidium orchids, and bird of paradise. Nicknamed the "flower capital of southern Taiwan," the township exports more than 20 containers of flowers annually. See the Pingtung county page for more on the region.
