Over a century of training Penghu's seafarers.
National Penghu Marine and Fisheries Vocational Senior High School traces its founding to May 24, 1922, when it opened as the "Magong Street Fisheries Supplementary School" (馬公街立馬公水產補習學校), a two-year aquatic supplementary program — making it one of Taiwan's oldest vocational schools, now over a century old. In 1937 it was renamed the "Penghu Prefecture Fisheries Specialized School" (澎湖廳立澎湖水產專修學校) and, the following year, moved to its present site on Minzu Road, where it has remained ever since. The school became a provincial vocational high school in 1980 and was elevated to national status in 2000, following the restructuring of Taiwan's provincial government.
