From a borrowed classroom to a complete high school.
Nuannuan Senior High traces its origin to April 1967, when preparations began for "基隆市立第七初級中學" (Keelung Municipal 7th Junior High School), which initially held classes at Ren'ai Elementary. In August 1968, as part of the nine-year compulsory education reform, it was renamed "基隆市立暖暖國民中學" (Keelung Municipal Nuannuan Junior High School). The school became a full junior-and-senior high school in September 1999, taking on the senior-high mission it carries today for Keelung's Nuannuan District.
