Nuannuan Elementary was founded on December 11, 1899, under Japanese colonial rule, as "暖暖公學校." Its earliest classes were held in space borrowed from Ande Temple on Nuannuan Street. Now well over 125 years old, it is one of only three century-old schools in Keelung City, alongside Xinyi Elementary and Ren'ai Elementary. Today the school operates as a public bilingual school with special-education resources, continuing to serve the historic Nuannuan neighborhood it has called home for over a century.
暖暖國小創立於明治32年（1899年）12月11日，日治時期名為「暖暖公學校」，最初借用暖暖街安德宮的空間上課。如今建校已逾125年，與信義國小、仁愛國小並列為基隆市僅有的三所百年老校。學校現為公立雙語學校，並設有特殊教育資源班，持續服務這個已守護逾百年的暖暖社區。
