Dongguang Elementary School

Dongguang Elementary traces its roots to 1922, when it was founded as the "Mujilunglang Branch Teaching Place" of Yuchi Public School, a satellite classroom serving the tea-growing hill community. It became an independent school, Dongguang National School, in 1941. The 1999 921 earthquake severely damaged the school's buildings, but with assistance from the Tzu Chi Foundation, a fully rebuilt campus was completed in November 2001, allowing the school to continue serving Dongguang Village's children.

東光國小的歷史可追溯至1922年（大正11年），前身為魚池公學校「木屐囒分教場」，服務茶山丘陵地帶的社區。1941年（昭和16年）獨立設校，正式定名為東光國民學校。1999年921大地震使校舍嚴重損毀，後在慈濟基金會的協助下於2001年11月完成重建，讓學校得以持續服務東光村的學童。
