A hamlet school with a century of history.
Neiwei Elementary School opened on April 1, 1920, as a branch classroom of Jiucheng (Old City) Public School (舊城公學校內惟分教室). "Neiwei" was a hamlet inside the outskirts of the old Zuoying walled city, and the school's founding as a branch of "Jiucheng" (Old City) Public School ties it directly to Zuoying's Qing-era walled-city history. Today the school serves 905 students across 31 classes, and in 2009 it opened the Chaishan Ecological Education Center on campus. The school celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020.
內惟國小於1920年（大正9年）4月1日設立，最初為「舊城公學校內惟分教室」。「內惟」是位於左營舊城外圍的聚落，學校創校時隸屬於「舊城」公學校，也讓其與左營清代舊城歷史緊密相連。學校目前有905名學生、31個班級，並於2009年在校內成立柴山生態教育中心。學校已於2020年慶祝建校百週年。
