Training technicians for the automation era.
Taipei Municipal Neihu Vocational High School traces its start to a preparatory office established in 1983, with its first students enrolling in 1986. It is considered Taiwan's first vocational high school built specifically around an electrical/electronics department cluster, with founding departments in Information, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning — a curriculum designed explicitly to supply skilled technical labor as Taiwan pushed into industrial automation. Over the following decades the school broadened its offerings, adding a comprehensive vocational department (later renamed Retail Services) in 2002, a physical-education special class in 2007, and an Applied English department in 2013.

A founding mission that foreshadowed Neihu's tech future.
Neihu Vocational High's founding mission — supplying skilled technical workers for Taiwan's automation-era industry — foreshadowed the district's later transformation into Taipei's largest technology-park district. Decades before Neihu Technology Park became one of Taiwan's major tech hubs, this school was already training the electronics and electrical technicians the region would come to depend on. See the Taipei county page for more on the region.
