A small school beside a protected wetland.
Neihai Elementary began as a branch classroom of Dayuan National School around 1960, becoming independent as Neihai National School on November 21, 1961. The school celebrated its 55th anniversary with the Taoyuan mayor in attendance, who pledged support for the school to develop as a "small but beautiful" (小而美) flagship school by combining ecological and historical education. It sits directly adjacent to the Xuchuo Harbor Wetland Ecological Protection Area (許厝港溼地生態保護區), one of Dayuan's most important coastal wetland habitats.
