Tainan's southernmost high school, rooted in a fishing-village branch.
Tainan Municipal Nanning Senior High School began in 1960 as a branch campus known as "Tainan Municipal Middle School, Wanli Branch," named for Wanli (灣裡), the old sand-flat fishing settlement at the city's southern coastal edge. It became an independent junior high the following year, on October 24, 1961, and was converted into a full junior-and-senior high school in 2003. Today it is the southernmost senior high school in Tainan City proper, serving about 699 students across 29 classes — including a resource class — on a 4.7-hectare campus. Its school emblem features four bells representing virtue, intellect, physique, and community, and it supports an active student life with 16 clubs.

Named for a historic coastal fishing village.
Nanning's original 1960 branch campus was named for Wanli (灣裡), a historic sand-flat fishing village on Tainan's southern coastal edge. That naming ties the school directly to the Bao'an and coastal fishing communities that have long defined South District's waterfront identity, long before the area's postwar urban growth.
