A name built from two districts.
Taipei Municipal Nanhu Senior High School was established on August 1, 2002, with its campus completed that June and the first students enrolling that September. Its name is literally constructed from "Nangang" (南港) and "Neihu" (內湖) — the city built the school specifically to balance high-school access between the two adjoining districts, which had previously shared a more limited set of nearby options. In 2006, the school established an athletics special class, adding to its academic programming.

A product of Neihu's administrative geography.
Nanhu High sits near the boundary between Nangang and Neihu Districts, and its very name is a direct product of that administrative geography — a school deliberately positioned and named to serve residents on both sides of the district line. See the Taipei county page for more on the region.
