Nanhe Elementary was founded in 1970 in a rural corner of Guanxi Township. The school marked its 50th anniversary with the opening of a new running track, an occasion attended by the county magistrate. Its most distinctive feature is a "campus butterfly ecosystem network" that weaves butterfly conservation directly into environmental education, alongside programs in arts enrichment, disaster prevention, and Hakka-language instruction.
