A century-old branch classroom on the hillside.
Naba Elementary was founded on April 30, 1921, during the Japanese colonial era, as "Xinhua Public School Nabalin Branch Classroom." It was renamed "Nabalin Teaching Ground" in 1923, "Beixin Branch Teaching Ground" in 1941, became independent as "Beixin National School" in 1942, then "Xinhua Town Second National School" in 1945 and "Xinhua Town Naba National School" in 1946, taking its current name, "Naba National Elementary School," in 1968. A satellite branch at Jiaokeng was added in 1951. The school's buildings were demolished and rebuilt, completing in 2017, followed by an indoor wind-and-rain gymnasium (風雨球場) completed in 2021, and the school marked its 70th anniversary with a dedicated commemorative website.
