A century-old lineage from an agricultural school.
Muzha Junior High School traces its lineage back to 1925, during the Japanese colonial era, when it was founded as the "Muzha Agricultural Supplementary School" (木柵農業補習學校) — making it one of the oldest schools in Wenshan District, despite operating today as a junior high. It was upgraded to an agricultural specialty school in 1931, relocated and renamed "Taipei County Muzha Junior Agricultural School" in 1949, and reorganized as "Taipei County Muzha Junior High School" in 1959.
The school celebrated its 91st anniversary in 2015 and marked its full 100th anniversary on November 9, 2024. Its origins as an agricultural school tie it directly to Muzha's historic farming and tea economy — the same economy that produced the Maokong tea district just up the hill.
