Over a century in the Muzha valley.
Muzha Elementary School was founded in 1905 (Meiji 38) as the "Neihu Branch of Jingwei Public School" (景尾公學校內湖分校) — a branch of what is today Jingmei Elementary School. It was renamed "Muzha Public School" in 1912 and upgraded from a four-year to a six-year school the following year, becoming "Muzha National School" in 1949 and taking its current name after Muzha's 1968 incorporation into Taipei City.
With over a century of continuous operation, Muzha Elementary is one of the oldest schools in the Muzha area, its lineage tracing directly back to the same colonial-era institute that founded Jingmei Elementary. In 1915, the school planted a commemorative banyan tree to mark a Japanese imperial celebration — a tree that reportedly still stands on campus today.
