A tiny school built with the help of overseas generosity.
Xinpu Elementary began in 1955 as a branch campus of Qiming Elementary, becoming independent in 1960. Before school buildings existed, classes were held in the village ancestral hall (中山堂). The school's growth was aided by 1959 flood-relief donations from overseas Chinese communities. Today it remains a small school, with about 6 classes and roughly 60 students.
