Xihu Elementary was founded in 1915 during the Japanese colonial era and has grown into one of Xihu Township's most established schools, with over 100 years of history. The school has been recognized by the Ministry of Education as an outstanding disaster-prevention education model school, reflecting facilities and programs built to keep students safe. Its campus includes a storm-shelter multipurpose hall, a library known as the "Danaba Bookshop," and a garden called "Gengxin Garden."
