Over a century of schooling in the hills of Nanzhuang.
Donghe Elementary traces its roots to 1910, during the Japanese colonial era, when it opened as the "Da-Donghe Aboriginal Children's Education Institute." After Typhoon Fanny destroyed its campus in 1970, the school was rebuilt at its current site in 1972. In 1998, it was formally designated an Indigenous Focus School, cementing its long-standing role serving the Saisiyat and Atayal communities of Nanzhuang.
