Hongming Experimental Senior High School was founded in 2007, with its educational lineage tracing back to a nursery founded in Taichung in 2002. The school was established in the spirit of the teachings of Buddhist scholar Li Bingnan by founder Lien Shu-mei, and it built its curriculum around Confucian-classics recitation, character education, and the arts across a full K-12 continuum. The school held a "Hongming Expo" marking its fifth anniversary in 2011.
弘明實驗高中創立於民國96年（2007年），其教育淵源可追溯至2002年於台中設立的幼兒園。學校由創辦人連淑美依循佛教學者李炳南教授的教育理念創辦，以讀經教育、品格教育與藝術陶冶為核心，發展出從幼兒園到高中的完整教育體系。2011年學校舉辦「弘明博覽會」，慶祝創校五週年。
