Mingdao Elementary School opened on August 1, 1976, with Tian Qingcheng as its first principal, on Muzha Road in the same corridor as several of the district's older Muzha-area schools.
The school is known for its bilingual education program, which combines large touch-screen displays with one-tablet-per-student technology, and has hosted roughly 150 open classroom observation and discussion sessions for visiting educators. It currently has about 20 classes and 347 students, and added a mobile book cart and reading corners around campus starting in 2023.
明道國小於1976年（民國65年）8月1日創校，首任校長田慶成，校址位於木柵路，與文山區多所歷史悠久的木柵地區學校同在一條路上。
