Mingchuan Junior High School

Mingchuan Junior High traces its roots to "Keelung Higher Elementary School," a school building constructed in 1926 under Japanese rule — making it Keelung's oldest junior high school by lineage. Its first principal was the Japanese educator Kiyozumi Mitsugu, and the school's main building was completed in 1932. After the Second World War, the school was renamed Keelung Municipal Girls' Junior Middle School and went through several further name changes before taking its current name, Mingchuan, in 1968, when nine-year compulsory education was implemented nationwide.

銘傳國中校史可追溯至日治時期1926年興建的「基隆高等女學校」校舍，是基隆市歷史最悠久的國中。首任校長為日籍教育家清水盈；主要校舍於1932年落成。二戰後，學校改制更名為基隆市立女子初級中學，並歷經數次更名，直到民國57年（1968年）九年國民義務教育實施時，才正式定名為銘傳國中。
