Ming Chuan University, Taoyuan Campus

Ming Chuan University was founded in 1957 by Dr. Pao Teh-ming and Dr. Lee Ying-chao as Taiwan's first women's business school, with founding programs in Banking and Insurance, Accounting and Statistics, and International Trade and Business Administration. The school takes its name from Liu Ming-chuan, the first Governor of Taiwan Province under the Qing dynasty — a descendant of his was struggling to maintain the Ming Chuan Orphanage in Taipei when Dr. Pao took it over and converted it into the school. Ming Chuan settled at its present Shilin District, Taipei site in 1962. The Guishan campus in Taoyuan is the university's second Taiwan campus — sources disagree on exactly when it was established, with one citing 1967 and another citing August 1993, so this page states both dates rather than asserting either as certain. Today the Taoyuan campus operates alongside the Taipei (Shilin) campus, a Kinmen campus (1995), and a Michigan, USA campus (2014).

銘傳大學由包德明、李應兆兩位博士於1957年創辦，是台灣第一所女子商業專科學校，初設銀行保險、會計統計、國際貿易等科系。校名取自清代首任台灣巡撫劉銘傳——其後人原於台北經營「銘傳育幼院」，包博士接手後將其改制為學校。1962年遷至現今台北市士林區校址。桃園（龜山）校區為銘傳在台第二校區，設立年份說法不一，一說1967年，一說1993年8月，本頁並列兩說，不逕自採信其一。目前桃園校區與台北士林校區、金門校區（1995年）及美國密西根校區（2014年）並行運作。
