Renamed at the dawn of Matsu's military governance.

Dongguang Elementary School traces its roots to "Fuzheng National School," established in 1951 alongside "Daping National School" to cover education for the villages of Dongju Island. In 1956, the year military administration was implemented across Matsu, the school was renamed "Dongquan Elementary." It relocated and was renamed again as "Daping Elementary" in 1963, with facilities expanding by 1970 to meet rising enrollment. The school took its current name, Dongguang Elementary School, in January 1974.
