From a mountain branch school to a life-education pioneer.
Maling Elementary School was founded in 1920 as the "Shuifanjiao Public School Maling Branch," making it over a century old and one of the oldest schools deep in Qidu District's forested mountains. Since 2016, it has operated as Keelung's first publicly-run, privately-managed experimental school, in partnership with the Bliss and Wisdom Foundation, centered on a life-education curriculum. Its campus today includes an insect museum, an artifact museum, an organic farming garden, an ecological pond, and even a wood-fired pizza oven used for hands-on teaching.
瑪陵國民小學創校於民國9年（1920年），初名「水返腳公學校瑪陵分校」，是深藏於七堵山林間逾百年歷史的老校之一。自民國105年（2016年）起，本校與福智文教基金會合作，成為基隆市首間公辦民營實驗小學，以生命教育為核心課程。校園設有昆蟲館、文物館、有機農園、生態池，甚至還有一座供教學使用的柴燒披薩窯。
